Abstract
Does this sound familiar… you have mountains of data in Oracle E-Business Suite and IT developers are busy churning out reports while the users still complain they don’t get meaningful information from Oracle. This session will walk you through our story of various reporting solutions we analyzed and how we solved the problem of producing meaningful operational reports/Dashboard that our users like to use while reducing burden on our IT resources. Intelligrated leveraged this reporting solution to replace the soon to be de-supported DBI solution.

#12206 – Life After Discoverer
Date:
Wednesday, April 10
11:00 am – 12:00 pm
Category:
Better Reports and Better Information (Processes & Practices), Data Analysis
Product Line:
Oracle E-Business Suite
Track:
Financial Modules
Description:
After trying to convince our users for 9 years to use Discoverer, it dawned on us that the problem was not with users but with the tool. Last year we purchased a state of the art Oracle E-Business Suite Reporting tool that just plugged into our existing Oracle instances and inherited the security and all the other setups. Moreover, a built-in utility imported the Discoverer reports that were of any value to us. Now our users build their own reports in all Oracle Financials modules with minimal help from us.
Objective 1: Share our lessons learned and the specific value this tool provided us.
Objective 2: Show how we built new ad hoc reports and why our users like to use this tool

GSU Student’s win the Business Strategy Game Grand Champion Award
A GSU student team won the Business Strategy Game Grand Champion award. The business simulation called Business Strategy Game (BSG) is part of the capstone course for RCB’s undergraduate program. Students are divided into teams and each team given a virtual company to run. All companies within a given class compete against one another, but each company’s performance is also logged by a centralized system run by the game publisher. This system compares the performance of each team with all other teams that exist worldwide and at the end of the period, the top performing company is recognized and designated as BSG Grand Champion. The winning team was a student section from summer semester, taught by PhD student Andreea Kiss. In addition, Andreea was named Master Professor by the publisher.
Both the student team and Andreea have been inducted into the BSG Hall of Fame. Congratulations to Andreea and the winning team members and GSU grads- William Prevost, David Stephens, Kaka Moiz, and Tony Lin!
